5 Best Brunch Spots in Kansas City

Nothing is better after a long week of work than sleeping in on a Saturday morning and hitting a brunch hot spot hours later than you’d get up during the week. Whether you’re the quick brunch and go type or the drink mimosas for hours type, here are 5 brunch spots that you need to check out in Kansas City:

1. Eggtc.

This brunch spot is packed weekend after weekend. This cozy restaurant has two locations, one a few blocks south of the Plaza and the other in Shawnee. One of their signature dishes is the Eggs Benedict, which comes in two varieties the traditional eggs benedict is an “English muffin, two poached eggs, smoked black oak ham or turkey with hollandaise” or the Eggs Benedict Florentine, “English muffin, two poached eggs, avocado, spinach, tomato with hollandaise.” Either way, you can’t go wrong.

2. The Farmhouse

Hidden away in Kansas City’s historic River Market neighborhood is this farm to table gem. When you eat at The Farmhouse, you can be ensured that you’re getting fresh and local food. Their menu changes with the seasons so be adventurous and try something new. You won’t go wrong with anything at this restaurant.

3. The Westside Local

Located in the Westside neighborhood, The Westside Local offers a “Blunch” on Sundays. Some of our favorites include the Blunch Plate starter, the Grilled Cheese (we like to add the brown sugar bacon), and the veggie hash!

4. Louie’s Wine Dive

This little spot in Overland Park is another “must eat.” They shine with their creative dishes and bottomless mimosas. They offer a variety of mimosas and brunch specialty drinks, as well as a creative menu. Some can’t miss items are the Eggs Benedict, the Rise and Shine Flatbread, and the Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich!

5. Happy Gillis Cafe + Hangout

Currently open Friday – Sunday! Happy Gillis, located in the historic Columbus Park, is the perfect combination of local, farm to table food in an atmosphere that feels like your friendly neighborhood diner. Be sure to try their breakfast sandwich, and if it’s tomato season – be sure to add a slice!
